Measured exports to help fill the gap in domestic ethanol flows and help identify trends in an ever-changing marketplace

Using proprietary technology, Genscape collects daily ethanol storage measurements at six terminals in the Gulf Coast known to export ethanol covering 3.9 million barrels of ethanol storage capacity. Since 2014, 63% of all U.S. fuel ethanol exports have come from the Gulf Coast making this region crucial when tracking ethanol flows throughout the U.S. and globally.

In addition to daily storage measurements, Genscape uses Vesseltracker data to detect vessels present for large withdrawals from ethanol terminals. This information includes valuable data such as the name of the vessel, the volume of ethanol received, and the vessel’s final destination. As most public data is delayed by at least a month, Genscape is able to detect ethanol exports in near real-time.

As renewable fuel mandates and tariffs across the globe change, be the first to know how this affects ethanol supply and demand using data sourced from actual measured data. Subscribers to this report will receive daily vessel lineups showing a list of pre-screened vessels that have arrived or departed a terminal. On a weekly basis, an updated list of confirmed ethanol shipments and daily tank-by-tank historical storage measurements are provided as well.

Benefits of the Ethanol Exports Monitor include:

  • Fills a hole in the domestic ethanol industry supply and demand; there is a limited amount of ethanol export data and most data is delayed at least a month
  • Ethanol Predictor gives an early indication as to whether ethanol has been loaded and purposed for export
  • Spot early ethanol export trends in a market where foreign mandates create volatility
